Sharing Home

Duration: 1 hour
Sharing HOME is a constructed and diverse environment: three artistic disciplines coexisting, behaving as living identities and creating a unique ecosystem through each performance. It opens a space for a fictional, autonomous, and temporary community with the possibility of looking at a familiar concept with different eyes – both for the performers and the spectators. As contemporary visuals artists, musicians and dancers, the performers question the flexible nature of what they call home. They understand the notion of home as a dynamic concept, not completely or necessarily related to ideas of nationality or place of origin.
Sharing HOME is an ecological environment, a landscape where time is determined by the unfolding of actions and not framed by any other external constraints. The aim is to develop an organic relationship to the different characteristics of the space where the habitat is presented. A habitat that is assumed part of the reality of the performance without altering the autonomous nature of the performers. As trying to find rhythmical accordance among them, the performers constitute a concrete metaphor about the way our contrasting temporalities can be organized in an inclusive manner. Sharing HOME opened its spaces and explored the experience of building a place for hospitality in Havana, Summer 2016. Sharing HOME as a further performance of alternative possibilities of a symbiotic relationship to the spaces then followed as part of the Vienna Art Week 2016 at the gallery Kunstraum Niederösterreich (NÖ) and settled into the exhibition NOTES ON OUR EQUILIBRIUM at CAB in Brussels.
